Surgical outcome of pediatric patients with symptomatic tethered cord syndrome at a tertiary care hospital

Introduction: Patients with tethered cord syndrome become symptomatic during the period of their growth spurt. Apart from progressive foot and spinal deformities, patients also develop motor deficits bladder bowel dysfunction. Early diagnosis adequate release are indispensable to successful management.
 Objectives: To study trends in neurological outcome after surgical treatment tethering pediatric population.
 Methodology: Study was carried out January 2018 December 2019 at neurosurgery department, Fauji Foundation Hospital Rawalpindi. Thirty-five were included who fulfilled inclusion criteria.
 Results: The average age time intervention 11 years. There 21 females (60.0%) 14 males (40.0%). distribution status improvement tells back pain 28 (80%), function (40%), urinary incontinence 7 (20%).
 Conclusion: This concludes that ache improves significantly surgery while is least benefited symptom. Untethering along rehabilitation helps majority deficit. ratio relief best for backache then control.
